Researchers at the University of Oxford will spend close to 4 million dollars and three years trying to discover
why people believe in God and whether this kind of faith is "natural." Using an approach based on cognitive science, the interdisciplinary science of the mind and intelligence, researchers from the
Ian Ramsey Centre and the
Centre for Anthropology and Mind hope to find out whether or not believing in God gave humans an evolutionary advantage. —
