Dr.
Francis Collins, director of the
Human Genome Project, will speak about the relationship between science and faith on Thursday in a lecture sponsored by
The Center for the Study of Science and Religion, part of The Earth Institute at Columbia University. In
"The Language of God: A Believer Looks at the Human Genome," Collins will share his view that science and religion are complementary ways of knowing and understanding the world; science tells us "how," he says, while religion answers "why."
